November 10, 2009 ONWARD... We launched some new programs this week and we hope you like them. On Sunday mornings from nine until eleven o'clock The Acoustic Cafe takes over The Music Place for two hours of new and classic acoustic music. Songwriting is what brings all the artists together in the Anna Arbor studio that is home to the AC. If you love great songs and performances of great songs you will probably feel right at home with the AC. If you have never had a chance to listen to Etown, you have two shots at it each week on The Music Place. The first broadcast of this socially conscious live audience musical potpourri is on Monday night at nine o'clock. Because we like it so much we give it an encore broadcast on Fridays at nine o'clock. While not especially new, The Grateful Dead Radio Hour is the definitive source for all that is Dead. Its now on every Sunday night from ten until eleven o'clock. Kerry Hurley continues his extraordinary excursion through the truly American music of the blues every Wednesday evening from ten until midnight. If you've got the blues, ever thought about having the blues, or want to share the blues, Blues With A Feeling is the place to be Wednesday night. Want to journey off to exotic lands and incredible new sounds? If so, then be sure to tune in to The Music Place on Thursdays at nine o'clock to lose yourself to the Putumayo World Music Hour. Not only will you hear the indigenous music of cultures not found on this continent you will get to explore how these magnificent compositions have influenced everyone from The Grateful Dead to Jackson Brown and Paul Simon. If you have been noticing new songs on the air it's not an audio mirage. In the last two weeks we have added approximately three hundred titles to the library. We still haven't gotten the first cube off the tip of the iceberg. There is more coming. The website construction has suffered a bit while we've been doing all these other things but we'll get back to it this week. Do know that we now have twitter and facebook pages. You can link directly to them from the 1015themusicplace.com home page. LATER... |
